Things to consider
The Silver Darlings Café is set within the Time and Tide Museum. It is open 7 days a week during the season and 5 days a week from Oct-Feb. We are only open during the daytime. We also have the occasional evening event to cater for. Therefore, the hours will be organised on a rota basis and the ability to work at least half the weekends during the summer is essential.
About the employer
GYROS is a small charity set up 25 years ago to support migrants including refugees and asylum seekers. We run the café to give us a space in the town to run community sessions, provide work experience opportunities to our clients and to generate a surplus income which can be used by the charity to support our work. The café is also an essential part of the museum visiting experience. You will be part of a friendly team that has a range of catering experiences. It is an opportunity to learn and to showcase your work. We offer an everyday menu of breakfasts and lunches including a bistro style menu. We would like to offer additional events such as afternoon teas and looking for someone to help us develop that. You will be working alongside a qualified chef.
