Celebrating International Women's Day has become an annual event for GYROS.

 

For the last few years we have collaborated with Soroptimist International GY and Girls Friendly Society to put together a lively celebration and luncheon for International Women's Day at Great Yarmouth Library.

 

Guests enjoyed delicious international cuisine and live entertainment and learnt more about the achievements of women from all over the world.  In 2018 we celebrated the Centennial of the Women’s Right to Vote.

Guest speakers talked about challenges faced by women and girls globally, as well as sharing success stories and the good work done locally and internationally by the Soroptimists.

For IWD 2020, we took part in a fundraising quiz with our friends Soroptimists International GY.
